Hand surgery seeks to restore normal hand function by repair or reconstruction of injury or chronic disease.  Plastic Surgeons have traditionally been involved in hand surgery due to the delicate nature of the structures that pass through the hand.  Unfortunately, hand surgery is often performed due to traumatic injuries.
